BOCA RATON BOWL ALUMNI MAKIN’ MOVES IN 2020 NFL DRAFT

Two Boca Raton Bowl alumni were selected in this year’s NFL Draft – James Proche and Dustin Woodard. Since the conclusion of the 2020 NFL Draft on Saturday, April 26, thirteen more Boca Raton Bowl alumni signed undrafted free agent agreements. These athletes have all have competed in at least one of the Boca Raton Bowls over the last six years.

Florida Atlantic University wide receiver James Proche was the first to be selected, going in the sixth round to the Baltimore Ravens as the 201st pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Proche played in the 2017 Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl and 2019 Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl. Later in the seventh round, the New England Patriots selected University of Memphis offensive lineman Dustin Woodard as the 230th pick. Woodard, also, recently competed in the Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl in 2019.

With one BRB alumni picked in this year’s draft (James Proche) and four more alumni signing undrafted free agent agreements, the 2019 Southern Methodist University team leads with the most Boca Raton Bowl alumni moving on to the NFL this year. The University of Memphis is a close second, with one BRB alumni drafted and three alumni signing undrafted free agent agreements; bringing the total of Memphis alumni drafted in the history of the bowl game to ten. Fun fact – Although no Temple University BRB alumni were selected this year, they remain the school with the most BRB alumni that have gone on to the NFL.
